Unfortuantely after a long debate with myself...ive decided to discontinue use of my blog. I just cant find the time anymore and ive lost the drive to blog. The perks of working with the Sunday Times is that you get to go to the cool parties. We went to the Cosmopolitan Jeans Launch held at Manhattan Club in Rivonia. What a ripper of an evening. We got to meet and had some shots with the guys from survivor South Africa. Did some interviews with the Chippendales who are over here doing a tour and some FHM models who were promoting Deal or no Deal. Very nice. Other people i met of interest is not my favourite DJ ever...Elana Afrika, Gareth- Sexiest Cosmo guy 2006 and some other really hot models who i cant remember. he he. I was driving to work this morning and listening to the radio. they ahve this new competition on where you can win loads of cash if you confess your deepesst secret live on air.

So this woman phones in and says she has something terrible to tell her fiancee. So everyone auromatically thinks she has cheated on him right. (sounds like an episode of Jerry Springer), but she tells him that she has been working as a stripper at a bar. The dude freaks out, as is expected.

But his main upset was that she had to tell him over live radio (broadcast nationally). So now the whole country knows. I think he was more embarrassed than anything else.

The cricket world cup is just not going to happen for us hey. Its like we are cursed or something. I think we have been in like three or four semi finals so far and no finals. Im so disappointed in the boys' lack of fight.

The only thing South Africa won yesterday...was the Toss. Other that that it was downhill from the beginning. There is no way that a cricket team can come back from 25/5. Its just not heard of hey.

An update on European terror alerts.

The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the
blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out. Terrorists themselves have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to "A Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance"
warning level was during the great fire of 1666.

Also, the French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide." The only two higher levels in France are "Surrender" and "Collaborate." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively
paralyzing the country's military capability.

It's not only the English and French that are on a heightened level of alert. Italy has increased the alert level from "Shout Loudly and Excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels remain: "Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides."

The Germans also increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance" to "Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." They also have two higher levels: "Invade a Neighbour" and "Lose."

Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual, and the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels.

After a very comprahensive victory over the West Indies to basically knock them out of the World Cup in their own backyard, SA have slumped to another defeat. This time at the hands of New Zealand.

And then just to add some salt to the wound, we have been bumped off the ICC one day rankings. Australia have taken over as the number one again. What a surprise hey. Check the link out here for the full rankings.

We play England tomorrow for a place in the Semi finals. Stressful times hey. But at the end of the day, i dont think that a team who loses two games deserve to be champions fo the world.

The funny thing is yesterday i was listening to the radio stations, reading the bloglines and newspapers and every single South African just took it for granted that we were going to anihilate Bangladesh.

Wow is all i can say. Went to go and watch the 300 movie yesterday and i was completely blown away. An absolute classic. Filmed just like Sin City, the cinematography was incredible. Oh yes and the amount of blood and heads being chopped off was enough to satisfy any action movie.

The Spartans were bloody hardcore hey. At aged seven they were sent away from home to fend for themselves and to complete many tests in order to find their way back home. If they get home they are considered fit enough to be in the Spartan army.

They believed in not retreating and never surrendering and this made them the most intense army at the time.

Australia World Class...South Africa sucks Ass

Im talking about the cricket world cup being held in the West Indies at the moment. Australia even though just coming off their worst losing streak of 5 in a row are destroying teams in the world cup. They are showing everyone that they are truly world champions.

The number one side in the world however, is failing to impress. South Africa scraped to a win last night over a really underpar Sri Lankan team. South needed to make 210 runs in their 50 overs. Thats about 4.10 runs an over. For a team of South African standards and for being the number one side in the world, we really made a complete mess of it.

We did end up winning the game, but only with 10 balls to spare. Its pathetic and other cricket lovers will agree with me that South Africa lacks the ability to truly finish a game off.

I hope that South Africa proves me wrong and they bring that trophy back to our shores but at the moment they wont win the World cup.

Although Playstation 3 is now out in stores, its going to cost you an arm and a leg to get hold of it. In Britain its selling for a cool 425 pounds. That is about R5000 to us South Africans. For a game console it seems to be quite a lot? Its like buying a computer.

I woke up this morning and had a look at the supersport news as i do every morning and i saw a shocking story that most of us probably all suspected already. Someone has murdered Bob Woolmer. If you guys dont know who he is, he coached Pakistan cricket team and in 1999 was the coach of the South aFrican cricket team. Thats why its hit the South African public so hard.

Police say that he knew his attacker and that there was no forced entry.

my guesses...

1. He was involved with the bookies
2. one of the Pakistan players killed him

3. One of the fans lost alot of money by Pakistan going out of the cup and strangled him

I got a freelancing contract at the Sunday Times to cover the South African Book awards. That should be pretty interesting. Really looking forward to it.

Went to a wedding the other day thrown by Red Diamond events. It was set up so nicely but the actual wedding itself wasnt great. The bride did n ot look happy at all. Really weird.

Apparently, Brad Pitt wasn't kidding at the Golden Globes when he told E! News that he and Angelina Jolie planned to expand their family to the size of a soccer team. Thats apparently why he is mates with Beckham (private lessons).

As it stands, the Jolie-Pitt clan may soon be able to play a decent game of three-on-three. LOL

Apparently Jolie has filed more adoption papers in Vietnam. She and Pitt, 43, currently share parenting duties of five-year-old Maddox, adopted from Cambodia; two-year-old Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia; and 10-month-old Shiloh, their biological daughter.

Wow... it was stressful but i am very confident. But like very. I felt the interview was a smashing success. Other than that i suppose we just have to wait now. I hate waiting like this...it kills me on the inside.

Onw ith some other news though- We are looking into maybe getting a portuguese and European passport. My dad was spanish and portuguese and so im trying to hook up some bloodlines though the home affairs. But now im trying to hook it up so after Japan we can do some more travelling and go through to Europe. YAY...hope it works out.

Yesterday myself and Taz went off the JHB zoo. Random i know...but i really enjoyed myself. Besides the blistering heat, we saw so many cute animals. My favourite being the meerkats. They just have so much character. The tigers as you guys well know are like my favourite animal of all time and if there were such a thing as a Liger ( a tiger and a lion put together as Napoleon says) that would prob be the coolest animal on the planet. Anyway...he he. Things on my side are going well...the coaching at Wanderers is really booming and my little video business seems to be taking off quite nicely.

Only like two weeks till we know for sure if we head off to Japan...counting the days.

And no...not the porn version, although that will be pretty cool as a musical. We went the other day to go and see Debbie Does Dallas at the theatre. There were some big names in it including my mate Jacques Terblanche of idols fame and of course the famous supermodel, Caprice...yummy. It was a really funny and raunchy play, which i thoroughly enjoyed. Good humour and loads of connotations. But definately not for the youngsters...loads of bum and tits. The other day the weirdest thing happened to me...While i was driving on the highway i saw a car with the license plate VLC 134, but i didnt take any notice of it. BUT then further down the road i saw a car with the license plate VLC 132. So i thought to myself, thats pretty cool...To my amazement i managed to see VLC 133 like 30 minutes later. I absolutely freaked out. What are the chances that i could see these three cars in one day and in such a big city.

What to do...what to do?

After quitting my job last year and going overseas to have an awesome holiday iv come back with a new lease on things. Im appplying to go off to Japan to teach English in July. But it all depends on whether i can get in or not. I need to write this motivational letter on why i would be a good candidate and i cant seem to sit down and write it. I have another little problem...well until today that is.

Until today i was unemployed lol. Iv spoken to some people and consulted with my mom(have to see if she approves- you know how it is) and iv decided to start a little video and photography production company. Just to keep me busy until i leave hopefully for Japan.

So what ill be doing is, ill be taking care of all the photos and video filming for events like weddings, birthdays, office parties and sporting events. I thought i might as well use my television degree for something right.

I think i might actually enjoy doing this sort of thing. Iv even got a cool logo up and running and a name...'verge productions'. Simple but effective. I like the logo more. So if you are in the Johannesburg area and you need an event to be filmed, photographed and edited to perfection...email me.

Back in SA

We are safely back in South Africa after a shit long flight. We left on Wednesday and only arrived back in SA on friday. One delayed flight after the other. It drained my soul right from my body. Thats why the sexy legs are back. I did miss them much. Anyway, so its back to reality now and back to playing shit loads of golf- first round on Monday. Then looking for a job. He He. And then who knows...maybe whatever the hell i want to do. Sounds like a fabulous plan.

Last day in Koh Samui

New years was an absolute ripper. we had so much Redbull and Vodka it was scary...but huge amounts of fun. The redbull here is very different. It has no fizzy agents at all. Its just syrup and wow it gets you hyper. Pics will follow soon of new years celebrations.

yeasterday we went to this marine park where the movie 'The Beach' was filmed. It was absolutely amazing. We went kayaking, snorkeling and we saw the lake that was shot during the scenes in 'The Beach'. So amazing.

Today is our last day in Koh Samui and tonight we mission off to Bangkok for our last night there. So we getting some last minute rays and some last minute shopping down before we take the long trip back to SA. Its been such an amazing trip so far. I can definately recomment Thailand to anyone looking to have a huge party. There is just so much to do its scary.

Koh Samui

We arrived the other day here in Koh Samui. What a beautiful place. Everything you imagined a tropical island to be. Pure white beaches, clear blue water and of course loads of good looking people. The people here are a little more friendlier than in Bangkok but i suppose you would expect that hey.

We havent found a place to go for new years yet but i reckon we will just play it by ear. There is so much cheap seafood here its scary. For like 200 baht (R40 and about $10) you can eat so much seafood you will feel sick. Literally sick. But its all so good.

We arrived a few days ago so im very sorry for not putting anything up sooner but its been a real rush and frankly im having so much fun i cant think of posting.

We are at a place called Baiyoke

Sky hotel where we are staying till sunday where we catching a late flight to Koh samui. cant wait for the white beaches, cheap massages and loads of coconut drinks. Yummy.

Other news....got an awesome tailored suit, loads of soccer shirts and loads of fake but cool stuff.

We went to the grand palace today, the marble palace and some other buddha temples. Very beautiful stuff. Our biggest attraction so far has to be the tigers. It was absoutely incredible. I cant even explain it to you. Words would not do it justice. Oh yes and we went on an interesting elephant ride where one of the elephants we had was 80 years old, missing an eye and half a brain...he kept shitting on himself. shame.

After an 8 hour trip from JHB, we have unfortunately been subjected to another 8 hour wait in the Dubai airport. Its life...i know. I thought the Dubai aiport was so much better and i thought it had a lot more shops...oh well. Its exactly 04h40 right now in Dubai. crazy hey. Iv had no sleep and im feeling a little edgy.

Our connecting flight from Dubai to Bangkok only leaves at 08h00...grrrrrrrrr.

The new template is the inspiration of our holiday to Thailand. We leave on the 18th for Bangkok. Im going to absolutely lose my mind. So after two weeks in the working world iv decided that its not for me. Ornico is a fantastic company and the people who work there were amazing. Thanks again to Natalie and Francois for giving me the opportunity. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Well...where do i go from here? Absolutely no where! I am going to do nothing for the rest of the December holiday and then next year ill decide on where to take my life. Im going to play as much golf as possible. See as many movies as possible and shop up a storm in Thailand. We leave on the 18th. Its going to be a ripper.

First day at new job

So today was my introduction to the real world. It was the first day at my new job. Well my first job actually. Im going to be at a place called Ornico Media Publishing. They basically deal with analysing the media for other clients and big instituations. My job entails putting together information for the big companies to use on a weekly basis. A media analysis if you like. Sound boring? Well as my new boss said...it's as boring as i want it to be.

Im going to be learning so much and gaining so much knowledge from the media that i reckon it would be very beneficial for my future. And im 22...im still so young. I can move up in the company and maybe one day i can take over and call the shots.

Its a long road to the top and im very keen to get there- so im gonna work my ass off to show these guys what im made of.

So iv arrived safely in Jhb and i am missing the guys back at Rhodes so much. Its only been two days but wow. Its nice being home though. Get to see the family and other friends. Well i suppose my updates now are going to be of the terrible things im going to get up to in Jhb. Its definately going to be an experience.

On monday i start my first day at my new job. I know...straight out of varsity and straight into work. Oh well...we shall see how it goes. Last day at Rhodes University

Well, my little journey has come to an end. Im sad and happy all at the same time. Sad to be leaving a place i called home for four years and happy to get out there and start doing my own thing. The worst thing about leaving is saying goodbyes. Even though you say you are all going to keep in touch...how often does it actually happen. Many goodbyes are just that- Goodbye! Iv said my fair share of goodbyes over the last week and some of those goodbyes i just didnt want to say. Oh well, its all a learning curve i suppose. At the end of the day, we are going to be meeting so many people from all around the world and it could just be for a second and the scary thing is we will probably never see those ppl again. Scary thought hey. We go through life just meeting and greeting and yet we never stop to realise that that meeting could be the last. After partying for the last time at varstiy last night, someone who i had been chatting to told me in their drunken state that you have got to make the most of every second you have with those people cause you never know- it could just be for a second.

"Please be aware that serious concerns have been voiced over
the toxicity levels of the municipal water supply. According to Martin Davies of the Department of Ichthyology and Fisheries Science, over 35 000 fish at the University's Experimental Fish Farm have died over the last few days as a result. He says that trout fingerlings are seen as an accepted early warning system of polluted water. The deaths of these fish together with behavioural abnormalities which has been observed are indicative of the presence of heavy metal pollutants in the water.

The particles are extremely toxic to human beings and cannot be removed through cooking or boiling water. Samples of water are currently being tested in the University's Biotechnology
Department but results of these tests will only be available by tomorrow. In the meantime you are requested NOT to drink water from any taps on campus (or at home) and not to cook with this water if your home or residence was affected by the recent water outage.

The University is making plans to bring further supplies of bottled drinking water to Grahamstown for distribution to residences. Please also note that all food served in the residences has been prepared with 'safe water'. The University has been forced to adjust menus and serving timetables as a result of the current problems and regrets any inconvenience. Those affected as asked to be patient as we attempt to manage the situation. "

Its finally come down to this...three more days of varsity. Four years spent in my little town of Grahamstown and it all ends in a few days. Its kinda sad and kinda cool in many ways- Starting a new life...while ending another.

Its weird to think that there have been so many people that you have seen and met and yet you will never see them again...ever. People come and go and for a special few, you some how have to try and hold onto them.

I am definately going to be sad to leave my little town behind...a town iv called my home for four years. But im also so keen to get out there and do my own thing you know. No more studying or waking up early for lectures. Wow...scary thought.

This past Saturday was the Red Bull VIP party here at Rhodes university. WOW, what a jam. Iv honestly never had so many Red Bull and Tequilas in my life. I recently thought it was a great idea to purchase a 250gig enternal hard-drive, and yes it was my little baby. I loved it so much. Until the little bastard turned on me and decided yesterday was the day that it would just not function and CRASH.

How this affects me....my life was on that machine. All my academic work, all the videos for television that iv produced, a music collection of like 7 years and worst of all- all my photos from overseas trips. I think i might cry. Actually i am crying. GRRR.
